ICmic to exhibit at Mainland China’s largest IC technologies event
Cyberjaya, Malaysia, January 13, 2004
IC MICROSYSTEMS Sdn. Bhd. (ICmic), a leading Malaysian fabless
IC designer, announces its plan today to exhibit at Mainland
China’s largest IC event, International IC-China Conference
and Exhibition (IIC-China), to be held at Beijing, Shanghai
and Shenzhen on March 2004.
ICmic is an MSC status IC designer specializing in mixed-signal
and radio frequency ICs. ICmic markets a myriad of data converters
(DAC & ADC), single chip telephony solution, and RFIC in
the forms of Gain-Block, Receiver, Transceiver, Mixer and LNA,
for various applications. It has received the MGS grant of
RM 3.5 Millions for research in RF technology.
Announcing the plan to exhibit at the event, the President
and CEO of ICmic, Mr. A. Rashid said, “Recent research released
by Global Sources, a trade information provider, indicated
that imported technology accounts for 84 percent of the total
volume of China's IC demand in 2003. As more and more companies
relocate their manufacturing operations to China, it is critical
for ICmic to tap into this rapidly growing market.”
According to IDC, a leading market research firm, Mainland
Chinese semiconductor demand currently represents over one
quarter of the US$60 billion total for Asia Pacific and will
account for almost half of the entire region by the end of
2008.
Since 1995, IIC-China has been the premiere industry event
showcasing the latest IC products and technologies to Chinese
electronic design engineering community. Leading vendors and
solutions providers such as Agilent, Altera, Analog Devices,
Samsung and Texas Instruments have made IIC-China a part of
their marketing strategy in China.
Mr. Rashid continues: “We have chosen to exhibit at the Shenzhen
leg of IIC-China, which has the largest venue and number of
exhibitors. More importantly, Shenzhen is the manufacturing
center of China where many of our prospective customers are
located.”
During the event, ICmic will display family of its DAC in
the forms of SINGLE, DUAL and QUAD 8bits, 10bits and 12bits
DAC. It will also showcase a Single-Chip Phone IC, ICM7101,
a single IC for dialer, speech and ringer, ideal for use in
manufacturing low-cost phone-set.
ICmic’s is located at booth #N10. The IIC-China in Shenzhen
will be held on March 8-9, 2004 at China Hi-Tech Fair Exhibition
Center.
