ICmic acquired Xicor Serial EEPROM Product lines from Intersil Corporation
Cyberjaya, Malaysia, January 21, 2005
IC Microsystems (ICmic), a leading IC Design Company in Malaysia, today announced that it has acquired Xicor Serial EEPROM product lines from Intersil Corporation (Intersil) - a NASDAQ 100 Index company, for an undisclosed amount. ICmic will use the products and technology assets from the acquisition to strengthen its broad base of products and gain access to proven Serial EEPROM solutions.
"Through the purchase of Xicor earlier this year, Intersil acquired key analog expertise and innovations such as Floating Gate Analog in addition to an established line of Serial EEPROM products," stated Davin Lee, Vice-President of General Purpose Power at Intersil. "With the focus on growing the analog business, Intersil has made a strategic decision to sell the proven Xicor Serial EEPROM product lines to IC Microsystems. Xicor was a market and innovative leader in Serial EEPROM since this technology was created. IC Microsystems is now positioned to continue this leadership status."

Customers can also expect to see additional new devices from this family of Serial EEPROM to be released by ICmic in the future.
