(ICmic), a leading Malaysian-based fabless IC [integrated circuit] Design Company with headquarters in Cyberjaya, Malaysia, announces today the commercial availability of new low power 1.2V, 10 Bit, 250 kSPS, Micro-Power, Miniature Analog-To-Digital Converter [ADC] with Serial Interface.The device with part number ICM8010 – is thought to be the industry’s latest 1.2V- 250kSPS ultra low power 10-bit SAR ADC with a uni-polar, single-ended input. It can operate with a single supply voltage of 1.2V and maintain a 250-kSPS throughput rate with an external 4 MHz clock. The analog input range for this device is 0V to 1.2V. The ICM8010 features impressive performance with 10 bits no missing codes resolution and the low power dissipation of 0.7mW at 4MHz clock. The sampling, conversion, and activation of digital output are initiated on the falling edge of CSB. The serial clock SCLK is used for controlling the conversion rate and shifting data out of the converter. Furthermore, SCLK provides a mechanism to allow digital host processors to synchronize with the converter. This converter interfaces with micro-processors or DSPs through a high-speed SPI compatible serial interface. There are no pipeline delays associated with the device. “The device is an excellent choice for battery powered systems, portable data acquisition systems, portable communication, medical Instruments, automated test equipment [ATEs] and handheld or non-handheld applications which might be sensitive to power dissipation and board space” said Mr. Abdul Rashid Munir, President and Group Chief Executive Officer of ICmic.
